  • canned chickpeas 400 g (1 can) g

    drained

  • garam masala1tsp tsp
  • cumin1tsp tsp
  • ground coriander1tsp tsp
  • plain flour3tbsp tbsp

    (or any gluten‑free alternative)

  • egg1
  • fresh cilantro30g g

    chopped

  • vegetable oil

    for frying

  • half cucumber

    grated

Step-by-step instructions

    Combine the red pepper, shallots, garlic, lemon zest and ginger in a large bowl. Squeeze the carrot to remove excess juice, then add it to the bowl.

    Place the chickpeas in a food processor and pulse for a few seconds until they break into crumbs. Do not puree; stop before it becomes a paste. If you don’t have a processor, simply mash the chickpeas with the back of a fork.

    Add the chickpeas to the bowl together with garam masala, cumin and ground coriander.

    Add the egg and mix well, then sift in the flour and mix again.

    Shape small discs and fry for about 3 minutes on each side in a small amount of olive oil.

    After cooking, place them on a paper towel to cool.

    To make tzatziki, combine cucumber, garlic and yogurt in a bowl. Garnish the fritters with chopped cilantro.
