Vitamins & minerals

Rich in Vitamin C (approximately 36.6mg per 100g, covering a significant portion of the daily recommended intake), Vitamin K, and Vitamin B6. Also contains folate and riboflavin.

How to choose

Choose sauerkraut that has a bright, yellowish color and a slightly sour, but pleasant aroma. Avoid jars with cloudy brine or any signs of mold. Look for unpasteurized sauerkraut for maximum probiotic benefits, if available and you understand the associated (minimal) risks. Consider the sodium content if you are watching your salt intake.

How to store

Store sauerkraut in its brine in a sealed jar in the refrigerator. Once opened, ensure the cabbage remains submerged in the brine. Properly stored, it can last for several months. Do not freeze, as this will affect the texture.
