I got this online from CDKitchen. I've been looking for this recipe for years and can't wait to try it!

Ingredients

  • boneless pork, cubed1 lb
  • chicken pieces4 lbs
  • flour1⁄2 cup
  • vegetable oil2 tablespoons
  • butter2 tablespoons
  • medium onion, chopped1
  • garlic cloves, crushed2
  • slivered almonds1 tablespoon
  • sesame seeds1 tablespoon
  • medium red pepper, chopped1
  • medium green pepper, chopped1
  • (16 ounce) can stewed tomatoes1
  • chicken stock1 cup
  • sugar1⁄4 cup
  • chili powder3 tablespoons
  • teaspoons cinnamon1 1⁄2
  • whole cloves3
  • bay leaf1
  • medium sweet potato1
  • apple, peeled and diced1
  • cup pineapple chunk1

Step-by-step instructions

    Dredge meats with flour; shake off excess.

    Heat oil and butter in a large saute pan.

    Brown meats and remove from pan.

  4. 4

    Saute onion, garlic, nuts, seeds and peppers until onion is transparent.

    Add tomatoes and simmer until tender.

    Remove from heat and cool. Pour into blender or food processor and puree.

    In large pot, combine sauce, meats, stock, sugar and spices.

    Cook for 30 minutes.

    Cut sweet potato into large chunks and add to pot.

    Cook for 15 minutes.

    Stir in diced apple and pineapple.

    Heat through.
