Maryland Crab Cakes With Caper Sauce

Yet another crab cake recipe....what can I say, I love them!!

Ingredients

4 serv.
  • CRAB CAKES
  • fresh lump crabmeat1 lb
  • saltine crackers6 -8

    finely crushed

  • mayonnaise1⁄2 cup
  • large egg1

    lightly beaten

  • fresh parsley1 tablespoon

    minced

  • Old Bay Seasoning1 1⁄2 teaspoons
  • dry mustard1⁄2 teaspoon
  • pepper1⁄2 teaspoon
  • Worcestershire sauce1⁄2 teaspoon
  • butter2 tablespoons
  • CAPER SAUCE
  • mayonnaise1 cup
  • shallots3

    minced

  • lemon zest2 teaspoons
  • tablespoons lemon juice, fresh1 1⁄2
  • tablespoons capers, drained and coarsely chopped1 1⁄2
  • teaspoon salt1⁄4
  • teaspoon pepper1⁄4

Step-by-step instructions

    Combine all of the caper sauce ingredients in a small bowl.

    Whisk together to combine and chill until crab cakes are ready.

  3. 3

    Drain the crab meat and remove any bits of shell.

  4. 4

    Combine the crushed crackers, mayonnaise, egg, parsley, Old Bay, mustard, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.

    Gently fold in the crab meat.

    Shape into 8 thin patties.

    Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.

    Add the crab cakes and cook in batches 4-5 min on each side or until golden.

    Drain on paper towels and repeat with remaining crab cakes.

  10. 10

    Serve with caper sauce.
