Keftedakia - Greek Meatballs

Classic Greek meatballs are called Keftedes and Keftedakia are a smaller version of them . They can be eaten as a snack, as a meze with ouzo and or beer or just as part of a buffet meal. Children also love these quick and easy to make treats.

Ingredients

4 serv.
  • beef, minced1 kg
  • large onion1

    very finely chopped

  • fresh parsley1⁄4 cup

    chopped

  • fresh mint leaves1 tablespoon

    chopped

  • white bread2

    dry, soaked in milk and well drained

  • olive oil1 tablespoon
  • egg1
  • flour1 cup
  • vegetable oil (for frying)1 1⁄2 cups
  • salt1 teaspoon
  • pepper1⁄2 teaspoon

Step-by-step instructions

    Add the first seven ingredients together and mix well.

    Roll the mixture into small balls approximately the size of large walnuts.

  3. 3

    Roll the balls in flour and then deep fry them for 15 minutes.

    Serve and enjoy!
