Aloo Tikki – an Indian street food made with fried potatoes, peas, and onions that can be easily made at home. Soooo delicious!

Ingredients

4 serv.
  • large potatoes, peeled, boiled and mashed3
  • frozen peas (uncooked)0.75 cup
  • large onion, chopped0.5
  • jalapeno pepper, minced1
  • . chili powder1 tsp
  • . garam masala2 tsp
  • . cumin powder1 tsp
  • tbs. grated ginger1
  • handful fresh parsley or cilantro leaves, chopped1
  • tbs. bread crumbs (I used panko)2
  • tbs. flour4

Step-by-step instructions

  1. 1

Once the potatoes have been boiled and mashed, add in all the other ingredients.

  2. 2

Form into patties (you should be able to get 8 large patties or 10 smaller ones).

  3. 3

Heat a little oil over medium-high heat and fry a few minutes on each side until golden brown. Drain and cool on paper towels.

  4. 4

Serve with any kind of sauce you like (I served it with a cottage/ricotta cheese mixture, but I imagine this would be delicious with some kind of chutney)!
