Step-by-step instructions

  1. 1

Place the fish in a medium bowl, add chili powder, ground cumin, ground coriander, smoked paprika, dried oregano, ½ tsp salt and a few pinches of ground black pepper. Mix well so the spices evenly coat the fish.

  2. 2

In a large bowl combine the thinly shredded red cabbage, grated carrot, juice of ½ lime and a pinch of salt, then add the sliced avocado and toss quickly by hand. Separately prepare the salsa: in a bowl combine the finely chopped tomatoes, cucumber, cilantro leaves, juice of another ½ lime, season with salt and pepper to taste, and mix.

  3. 3

Preheat the air fryer to 180 °C. Arrange the fish in the basket in a single layer and cook for 8‑10 minutes, until it turns golden and easily flakes with a fork.

  4. 4

Warm the tortillas according to the package instructions. On each tortilla place a portion of fish, then top with the sauerkraut‑carrot mixture, avocado, salsa and a little hot sauce. Serve with lime wedges so each can add a juicy note.
