  • cup chopped green peppers or 1/2 cup chopped red pepper1⁄2 cup
  • cup chopped celery1⁄2 cup
  • teaspoon creole seasoning1 teaspoon
  • teaspoon dried leaf thyme1⁄2 teaspoon
  • teaspoon ground paprika1⁄2 teaspoon
  • teaspoon Worcestershire sauce1 teaspoon
  • dash ground black pepper1
  • teaspoon salt1⁄4 teaspoon
  • (14 1/2 ounce) can diced tomatoes with juice1 1
  • tablespoon tomato paste1 tablespoon
  • cup chicken broth1⁄2 cup

Step-by-step instructions

    Heat the butter and oil in a medium saucepan.

    Add the chopped onion, garlic, chopped celery and bell pepper; sauté until tender.

    Stir in all remaining ingredients.

    Simmer over low heat for about 10 minutes.

    Taste and adjust seasoning.
