Impress guests with this festive candle centerpiece for a Christmas table. Made with cloves, clementines, rosemary and cinnamon, it smells divine.

  • cinnamon sticks2
  • candle1 tall, wide

    (25 cm tall × 7.5 cm diameter)

  • wooden boardround

    or tray (about 25 cm in diameter)

  • string

    or ribbon

Step-by-step instructions

    Press the cloves into the clementines. You can do it in a pattern if you like, or randomly.

    Place the candle in the center of the tray or board (there should be enough space around), then, wearing gloves, wrap the mistletoe branches around the candle and secure the wreath with a string or ribbon if needed (smaller branches may not require this). Insert the rosemary branches in and around the mistletoe branches, and arrange whole walnuts, bay leaves, cinnamon sticks and clementines, studded with cloves, around the wreath. It stays fresh for up to four days. To avoid fire hazard, replace the candle with a new one when it burns out, so it does not touch the mistletoe wreath.
