Cook these pork back ribs slowly over low heat to achieve a juicy result. Preparation requires little time, and you can use ready-made BBQ sauce to simplify the process even more.

Ingredients

2 serv.
  • pork back ribs500g g
  • cumin1 tbsp tbsp
  • smoked paprika1 tbsp tbsp
  • cayenne pepper1 tsp tsp
  • ketchup4 tbsp tbsp
  • soft light‑brown sugar2 tbsp tbsp
  • Worcestershire sauce2 tbsp tbsp
  • apple cider vinegar1 tbsp tbsp
  • garlic powder1 tsp tsp
  • hot saucedash of dash

    (optional)

Step-by-step instructions

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 160/140 °C (fan/gas). Use a small sharp knife to remove the white membrane from the ribs, being careful not to cut the meat, then place them on a tray. In a small bowl mix cumin, paprika and cayenne pepper with a generous pinch of salt, then rub this mixture onto the ribs. Add 3 tbsp water to the tray, tightly cover with foil and bake for 3 hours, until the meat falls off the bone.

  2. 2

When the ribs are almost done, combine the remaining ingredients in a small saucepan and bring to a gentle boil. Cook for 1‑2 minutes until the mixture thickens and some liquid evaporates. Brush the ribs with the sauce and bake uncovered for another 10 minutes, until the sauce becomes sticky. Serve immediately.
