  • light muscovado sugar100g g
  • orange juice100ml ml

    fresh or from a carton

  • fresh or frozen cranberries250g g
  • stem ginger2 balls of

    sliced, plus 1 tbsp syrup from a jar

Step-by-step instructions

    Pour the sugar and orange juice into a saucepan over medium heat and bring to a boil. Add the cranberries, ginger and syrup, and simmer until the cranberries become soft but retain their shape — about 5 minutes for frozen, 8‑10 minutes for fresh. Store in the refrigerator for up to three days or freeze for up to a month.
