Make a homemade cranberry sauce for the Christmas dinner, with a warm ginger aroma. It can be prepared in advance as it keeps in the freezer for up to a month.
Pour the sugar and orange juice into a saucepan over medium heat and bring to a boil. Add the cranberries, ginger and syrup, and simmer until the cranberries become soft but retain their shape — about 5 minutes for frozen, 8‑10 minutes for fresh. Store in the refrigerator for up to three days or freeze for up to a month.
