Preheat the oven to 140 °C/120 °C with convection/gas 1. Using a small sharp knife, cut a pocket on the side of each thick slice of bread, then fill a quarter of the marmalade with a spoon and press a quarter of the chocolate into each pocket.
Whisk the eggs, milk, vanilla, orange zest and cinnamon in a shallow bowl. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are well coated.
Melt ½ tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Place the soaked bread slice in the pan and fry until golden‑brown and crisp, about 2‑3 minutes per side. Repeat with the remaining slices. Keep the fried pieces warm in a low oven while you cook the next ones, adding more butter if needed.
Place orange slices in a saucepan with maple syrup and warm over low‑medium heat until some of their juice is released. Dust the French toast with powdered sugar and garnish with yogurt, orange slices, and warm maple‑orange syrup.
