Blackberry Vodka

Try this easy-to-make blackberry vodka liqueur in a cocktail. It keeps for up to a year, a great way to use a bunch of fresh berries.

Ingredients

700 serv.
  • blackberries300g g

    (fresh or frozen)

  • cinnamon stick1
  • bay leaf1
  • golden sugar150g g
  • vodka700ml ml

Step-by-step instructions

  1. 1

Transfer the blackberries, cinnamon stick, bay leaf and sugar into a large sterilized jar. Fill with vodka, close the jar with a lid and shake to dissolve the sugar. Store in a cool, dark place and turn the jar daily during the first week.

  2. 2

After two to three weeks, strain the vodka through a fine sieve (see tip below) and pour into bottles, then label them. It will retain its colour for several months and be safe to drink for up to a year. Use the infused blackberries in baking or meringue‑based desserts.
