Juicy chicken patties grilled and a chili‑honey sauce – a perfect quick, tasty dinner.
Prepare the sauce‑marinade: in a large bowl combine tomato ketchup, brown sauce, a little chili sauce, honey and minced garlic. Set aside a few tablespoons of sauce – it will be needed to drizzle the finished burgers.
Gently cut each chicken breast lengthwise through the thickest part, opening it like a book. Lightly press to even the thickness, then immerse the meat in the marinade and wrap well. Place in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes (can leave for several hours).
Preheat the grill to medium heat. Grill the chicken for about 10 minutes, turning regularly, until fully cooked and a golden crust forms.
At the same time, grill the bacon strips until crisp, then the buns, cut in half, until toasted but not soggy.
Assemble the burgers: on the bottom half of the bun place lettuce leaves, a slice of tomato, a few rings of red onion, the chicken patty, bacon (optional) and drizzle with the remaining sauce. Top with the upper bun half and serve immediately.
