Per serving
Juicy chicken tikka skewers cooked in an air fryer, served in soft naans with favorite sauces — mango chutney, refreshing raita, lime marinate or crunchy bhaji crumbs.
(about 600 g), cut into bite-sized pieces
plus extra for serving (optional)
minced or finely grated
peeled and grated
(used round naans)
chopped
Place the chicken meat in a bowl, add the yogurt, tikka masala paste, minced garlic and grated ginger. Mix, cover and let marinate for at least 20 minutes, or transfer to the refrigerator overnight. When covered, the marinade keeps for up to a day.
Preheat the air fryer to 180 °C. Thread the chicken pieces onto skewers – you’ll need between four and eight. If your device accommodates long skewers, use four; otherwise take eight shorter ones or cut them in half. (Alternatively, cook the chicken in batches for 15–20 min, turning halfway through, until done. You may need to work in several batches.)
Warm the naans according to the package instructions – a microwave works, as it makes them soft, which is convenient for wrapping the chicken. Or sprinkle the bread with water and toast in a dry skillet.
Slice the naans, place the chicken inside, sprinkle with chopped coriander, optionally drizzle with yogurt and add the chosen sauces.
