Old Fashioned Swiss Steak

I haven't tried this yet but it sounded pretty good.

Ingredients

2 serv.
  • lb boneless beef top round steak3⁄4 lb
  • salt1⁄4 teaspoon
  • pepper1⁄8 teaspoon
  • all-purpose flour1 tablespoon
  • oil1 tablespoon
  • medium onion, chopped1
  • (5 1/2 ounce) can tomato juice1
  • cup canned tomato, diced1⁄2 cup
  • lemon juice2 teaspoons
  • Worcestershire sauce2 teaspoons
  • brown sugar1 teaspoon
  • mustard1⁄2 teaspoon

Step-by-step instructions

    Cut steak into 2 pieces; sprinkle with salt and pepper. Coat in flour, using a mallet, pound flour into the meat. In large skillet, brown meat on both sides. Transfer to a shallow 1 quart baking dish coated with nonstick cooking spray.

    In same skillet, saute onion in drippings until tender. Stir in remaining ingredients. Pour over meat. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours, or until tender.
