Mini fish crumbs for little mouths! Perfect for infants and toddlers who like to self‑feed, and a great way to include fatty fish in their diet.

Ingredients

8 serv.
  • medium potato1
  • small salmon fillet1

    about 120g

  • frozen corn1 tbsp tbsp

    and peas, thawed

  • fresh chives1 tsp tsp

    thinly sliced

  • soft cheddar25g g

    grated

  • small egg½

    beaten

  • butter

    for greasing

Step-by-step instructions

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 200°C/180°C with convection/gas 6. Wrap the potato in foil, place on a tray and bake for 1 hour 15 minutes. Wrap the fish in foil, place on the same tray and continue cooking for another 10‑12 minutes, until it becomes opaque and fully cooked.

  2. 2

After cooking, cut the potato in half and scoop out the flesh. Separate the fish into pieces, remove the bones and discard the skin.

  3. 3

Grease a tray with a little oil. Mash the potato, then combine it with the flaked fish, vegetables, shnitzel, cheese and egg. Let it cool slightly, then shape portions the size of a golf ball into small croquette‑like shapes. Place them on a foil‑lined tray and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. If you plan to freeze, put the tray in the freezer. After freezing, transfer to a freezer bag and remove as needed. Before cooking, thaw thoroughly in the refrigerator.

  4. 4

To cook, preheat the oven to 200°C/180°C with convection/gas 6. Arrange the desired number of croquettes on a tray and bake for about 15 minutes or until they turn golden and are fully cooked. The interior will be very hot, so ensure they have cooled sufficiently before serving to your little ones.
