Slow Cooker Recipe. This recipe was clipped out of a magazine adapted from Brett Favre's Family Chili recipe in Green Bay Packers Cookbook. I changed up a bit for us and will note my changes. My husband liked it because it was spicy and was not overload on the beans. Enjoy

Ingredients

8 serv.
  • lean ground beef1 1⁄2 lbs

    I used 1 1/3 pound ground beef and 1/2 pound sausage

  • medium green peppers2

    chopped

  • stalks celery2

    chopped

  • green onion1⁄2 cup

    sliced

  • small onion1

    chopped

  • garlic cloves2

    minced (I doubled)

  • kidney beans1 can

    (15 ounce), rinsed and drained

  • diced tomatoes1 can

    (14 1/2 ounce), undrained

  • diced tomatoes with garlic1 can

    (14 1/2 ounce), undrained

  • diced tomatoes with green chilies1 can

    (10 ounce), undrained

  • cream of mushroom soup1 can

    (10 3/4 ounce)

  • chili seasoning mix1 3⁄4 ounces

    (I used Texas Red)

  • chili powder1 tablespoon
  • creole seasoning1⁄2 teaspoon
  • salt1⁄4 teaspoon
  • teaspoon black pepper1⁄8

Step-by-step instructions

    In a large skillet, cook beef (& sausage if added) until no longer pink; drain off fat.

  2. 2

    In a slow cooker stir together meat with all listed ingredients.

  3. 3

    Cover and cook on low heat for 7 to 8 hours.
