Treat yourself in the morning with a chocolate porridge topped with stewed cherries, creamy yogurt and crunchy nuts
(if desired)
juiced
(adjust to your desired sweetness)
finely chopped
Start by preparing the cherries. Place them in a small saucepan with the icing sugar and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat for 4‑5 minutes until they become soft and break down, releasing a lot of juice. Pour about 2 tsp of cherry juice into a small bowl. Add the corn starch, stir to a smooth liquid, then pour it into the cherries. Bring to a boil so the syrup thickens slightly, then remove from heat. Keep covered in the refrigerator for up to four days.
For the porridge, place the oats, ground seed mix and a pinch of salt in a saucepan. Sift the cocoa powder, then add the maple syrup and semi‑skimmed milk. Cook over medium‑low heat for 4‑5 minutes, stirring constantly, until the porridge thickens and becomes glossy.
Transfer to a bowl, top with a spoon of Danone Skyr Plain yogurt, a few cherries and sprinkle with pistachios or walnuts, if desired.
