Add chopped Brazil nuts to roasted beans to give them a pleasant buttery richness. Serve in our Brazil nut burritos or as a tasty side to a Mexican spread.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. 1

Grind the Brazil nuts using a mortar and pestle or a mini‑blender into a coarse paste. Transfer to a pot, then add the beans together with the liquid from the can. Fill the can halfway with water and add that as well. Mix well, then add the remaining ingredients, except the lime juice.

  2. 2

Simmer over low heat for 15 minutes, then mash the beans with a potato masher until they reach a loose, porridge‑like consistency. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until the mixture stays soft but not watery, then add the lime juice and season to taste. Try using this beans in our Brazil nut burritos.
