Blackberry Gin

Preserve the taste of late‑season bush berries in this bright gin liqueur ‘bramble’ with gin and blackberry. Perfect for cocktails, try it in a ‘bramble’.

Ingredients

750 serv.
  • blackberry350g g

    (fresh or frozen)

  • sugar150g g
  • gin700ml bottle of ml

Step-by-step instructions

  1. 1

Transfer the blackberry and sugar into a sterilised 1.5 L jar. Fill with gin, seal the lid and shake to dissolve the sugar. Store in a cool, dark place and shake the jar daily for the first week.

  2. 2

After two to three weeks, strain the gin through a sieve. Transfer the gin into bottles and label them. The gin will retain its colour for several months and be drinkable for up to a year. Use the infused blackberry in cocktails, for example in a ‘bramble’, or in a trifle dessert.
