Rich with the aroma of meat and vegetables, this stew is cooked in a single pot and brings true family warmth — an ideal dinner after a long day.
Heat a large non‑stick pan, add the beef mince and fry over medium‑high heat, stirring constantly until the meat turns golden. Add the crumbled stock cube and mix well again.
Add the chopped onions, carrots and potatoes, stir them with the meat and pour in enough boiling water (about 1.3 L) to cover all ingredients. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover and simmer over low heat for about 30 minutes, until the vegetables are tender.
Add the baked bean cans, season with Worcestershire sauce or Tabasco to taste, stir well and heat for a few more minutes. Check seasoning, add more spices if needed, sprinkle with coarsely chopped parsley and serve, offering extra sauce for those who like it hot.
