Barbecue Tofu on the Grill

Barbecue tofu on the grill! Baked tofu coated in a barbecue spice crust, ready in a flash. Serve it in bowls, add to salads or eat straight from the grill! DELICIOUS.

Ingredients

4 serv.
  • 16‑oz packages of extra‑firm tofu2
  • cornstarch2 tablespoon
  • brown sugar2 tablespoon
  • smoked paprika1 tablespoon
  • chili powder0.5 teaspoon
  • onion powder2 teaspoon
  • garlic powder1 teaspoon
  • kosher salt0.5 teaspoon
  • olive oil2 tablespoon

Step-by-step instructions

  1. 1

    Preheat the oven to 425°F.

  2. 2

Press excess moisture from the tofu – you can use a tofu press or wrap it in a towel and place a heavy skillet on top for 10‑15 minutes. Cut into cubes.

  3. 3

Combine cornstarch, brown sugar, spices and salt. Gently coat the tofu cubes in the seasoning, trying not to break the tofu. Transfer to a baking sheet and drizzle with just a drop of olive oil so it doesn’t stick. Bake for 30‑45 minutes, until the outside is lightly golden and dry to the touch.

  4. 4

While the tofu bakes, prepare bowl add‑ins (see notes for ideas). Garnish nicely in a bowl, take a photo for “Gram”, and enjoy!
