Ingredients

6 serv.
  • camembert290 г g
  • vegetable oil1 ст. л. tbsp
  • rosemary sprigs3
  • smoked bacon strips4 смужки

    finely chopped

  • maple syrup1 ст. л. tbsp
  • crackers or toasted baguettes

Step-by-step instructions

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 180 °C (160 °C with convection, gas 4). Grease a baking dish with 1 tbsp vegetable oil – it should accommodate the camembert without gaps.

  2. 2

Using a sharp knife, cut off the top of the camembert, then scatter the leaves from one rosemary sprig inside. Place the dish in the oven and bake for 20–25 minutes until the cheese melts and turns golden.

  3. 3

While the cheese bakes, remove the leaves from the remaining two rosemary sprigs and finely chop them.

  4. 4

In a skillet over medium heat, heat the remaining oil, add the chopped bacon and sauté for 5 minutes until it becomes golden and nearly cooked through.

  5. 5

Add the chopped rosemary and maple syrup, stir and cook for another 2–3 minutes until the bacon is crisp and fragrant.

  6. 6

Remove the camembert from the oven, drizzle it with the maple‑bacon mixture, sprinkle with the remaining rosemary crumble and serve immediately with crackers or toasted baguette slices for dipping.
