Quickly and effortlessly create fragrant tartlets with puff pastry, generously filled with juicy apples and warm cinnamon aroma. Cooked in an air fryer and dusted with fine powdered sugar before serving – a perfect dessert for any season.
Line the bottom of the air fryer with aluminum foil. Cut the sheet of puff pastry in half lengthwise, then divide each half into three pieces – you’ll get six rectangles. On each piece make a slit along the edge about 2 cm long without cutting all the way through, and place them in the refrigerator while you prepare the apples.
Remove the cores from the apples and cut them into quarters, then slice each quarter into thin slices. Transfer the apple slices to a bowl, add lemon juice and toss. Add ground cinnamon and granulated sugar, mixing thoroughly so the slices are evenly coated.
Place the apple slices in the center of each pastry piece, avoiding spilling over the slit. Return the tartlets to the refrigerator for another 20 minutes.
Preheat the air fryer to 180 °C. Cook the tartlets for 25–30 minutes until the pastry is browned and the apples acquire a light golden hue. Before serving, brush them with beaten egg or milk and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
