This appeared in a recent issue of Cooking Light and quickly caught my attention. Planning to make this soon but thought I would share it with the other coffee lovers on the website.

Ingredients

6 serv.
  • cup ground coffee1⁄2
  • teaspoons ground cinnamon1 1⁄2
  • teaspoon ground nutmeg1⁄2
  • cups water5
  • cup nonfat milk1
  • cup packed brown sugar1⁄4
  • cup light chocolate syrup (such as Hershey's Lite Syrup)1⁄3
  • teaspoon vanilla extract1

Step-by-step instructions

  1. 1

Mix the cinnamon and nutmeg in with your coffee grounds. Prepare coffee using 5 cups of water as you normallty would would with your coffee maker.

  2. 2

In a heavy saucepan, combine milk, sugar and chocolate syrup. Cook over low heat, stirring often and making sure the milk does not actually boil. Once the sugar has dissolved, add the vanilla and brewed coffee to the milk.

  3. 3

    Pour into cups.

  4. 4

    Serve immediately.
