This is fondant (candy) to feed honeybees in the winter. It is not for human consumption (well, it wouldn't hurt you, but, yuck). I like to keep all my recipes in one place!

Ingredients

5 serv.
  • cup water1 cup
  • lbs powdered sugar5 lbs
  • teaspoon apple cider vinegar1 teaspoon
  • teaspoon vanilla1 teaspoon
  • cooking spray

Step-by-step instructions

  1. 1

Mix sugar, water, vinegar and vanilla and heat. Do not heat to over 240 degrees. Mix in 1 t Honey Bee Healthy if you have it on hand.

  2. 2

Spray smooth paper plates with oil and pour mixture to mold. Let sit a couple of days, then pop out of mold and feed one in between the brood boxes (near wherever all the bees are).

  3. 3

Extra plates of fondant can be frozen.
