Easiest Easter chocolate cookies in an air fryer

Do you have an extra stash of Easter treats? Make these simple cookies using any Easter chocolate – just crush it into small pieces or coarsely chop.

Ingredients

  • unsalted butter125g g

    softened

  • soft light-brown sugar150g g
  • egg1
  • vanilla extract1 tsp tsp
  • plain flour225g g
  • baking soda½ tsp tsp
  • chocolate150g g

    (any type), coarsely chopped

Step-by-step instructions

    Beat the butter and sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes. Add the egg and vanilla extract, beating until smooth and creamy.

    Add the flour, soda, chopped chocolate and a pinch of salt, mix with a spatula until a firm dough forms. Shape into 16 walnut‑sized balls, then flatten each slightly. Frozen dough can be stored for up to three months.

    Preheat the air fryer to 160 °C and place a sheet of parchment paper in the basket. Fry the cookies in batches for 9‑15 minutes, until golden‑brown. Or fry frozen for 13‑15 minutes. Depending on your air fryer and desired doneness, check every 2 minutes. Let stand 2 minutes to firm up, then transfer to a rack to cool completely. Store in an airtight jar for up to a week.
