Impress your party guests with this light, airy dessert and coffee after dinner, combined in one. It's a wonderful finishing chord of any meal and a refreshing treat in summer.

Ingredients

6 serv.
  • freshly brewed strong black coffee500ml ml

    (we used 30 g ground coffee beans in the coffee maker and brewed for 7 minutes)

  • golden crystal sugar80g g
  • coffee liqueur100ml ml

    (we used Kahlúa)

  • mascarpone1 tub
  • dark chocolate50g g

    grated

Step-by-step instructions

    Pour the coffee into a jug and stir in the sugar until it dissolves. Add the coffee liqueur and let it cool completely.

    When cooled, pour the mixture into a freezer‑safe container and place it in the freezer for 1 hour. Stir with a fork – you should see ice crystals forming at the edges. Return to the freezer for another 20 minutes, then stir again. Repeat once or twice more until the granita becomes solid ice crystals.

    Serve in glasses or bowls as an elegant dessert. For a richer version, add a spoon of mascarpone and grated dark chocolate.
