Christmas Martini

Imagine drinking a Christmas cake – this martini tastes just like that. With bourbon and cherry brandy, plus a dried‑fruit syrup, it’s a luxurious festive drink.

Ingredients

1 serv.
  • bourbon50ml ml
  • cherry brandy25ml ml
  • ice
  • dark soft brown sugar50g g
  • mixed dried fruit50g g
  • cinnamon stick½

Step-by-step instructions

    First, make the syrup. Transfer the ingredients to a saucepan with 50 ml of water and simmer over medium heat for 1 minute until the fruit softens. Remove from heat and let steep until the mixture cools to room temperature. Strain and discard the fruit and cinnamon stick. You will have more than you need – leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days.

    Pour the bourbon, brandy and 15 ml of syrup into a shaker with a handful of ice. Shake until the outside of the shaker becomes very cold, then strain into a coupe or martini glass for serving.
