Elevate a simple hot dog to a new level using steak, complemented by melted cheese, sautéed green peppers, and crispy onions. Easy to make and incredibly tasty.

Ingredients

4 serv.
  • large ribeye steak1

    (about 300 g)

  • olive oil3 tbsp tbsp
  • garlic cloves2

    crushed but whole

  • green peppers2

    sliced

  • hot dog buns4
  • smoked cheddar60g g

    sliced, yellow mustard (we used French’s), for serving

  • crispy onions2 tbsp tbsp

Step-by-step instructions

    Season the steak well, then sear it with the garlic in heated oil for 4‑5 minutes per side to medium doneness. Place the steak on a board to rest and discard the garlic.

    Add the peppers and a pinch of salt to the pan, add more oil if needed, and cook for 3‑4 minutes.

    Preheat the grill to high heat. Thinly slice the steak. Fill each bun with a quarter of the steak, peppers, and cheese slices. Grill for 2‑3 minutes, drizzle with mustard and sprinkle with crispy onions.
