This recipe was my grandmother's and it has such amazing flavor. The key to flavor is cooking it on medium low heat for about 3 hours. You want the bacon to melt in your mouth. Preparation is quick and easy. You can start this recipe around 1:00 in the afternoon and dinner is on the table at 5:00

Ingredients

4 serv.

  • large onion, chopped1
  • lb colonial meaty bacon, 1/2 inch slices (hint ( use scissors while bacon is cold)3⁄4 lb

  • (28 ounce) can water1

  1. 1

In a medium pot (large pot if you double the recipe)add the onion and cook until translucent.

  2. 2

  5. 5
