Try a fragrant apple crumble made entirely in an air fryer — add dried berries, cherry or raisins and serve with vanilla ice cream or custard sauce.

Preheat the air fryer to 180 °C. Place the apples, cinnamon, sugar and dried fruit (if using) in an oven‑safe dish, add 2 tbsp of water, cover with a lid and cook for 10–12 minutes until the apples are soft and juicy.
Meanwhile, rub the butter into the flour, then add the demerara sugar, oat flakes and a pinch of salt, mixing until it forms coarse crumbs.
Stir the apple mixture, sprinkle the crumble evenly over it and cook for another 10 minutes until the crumble is browned. Let it cool slightly, then serve warm with whipped cream, custard sauce or vanilla ice cream.
