Pineapple Topped Cake

• (18 ounce) package yellow cake mix1
• eggs (or as called for by your cake mix)↗3
• cup oil (or as called for by your cake mix)1⁄3 cup
• cups water (or as called for by your cake mix)↗1 1⁄3 cups
• (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple↗1
• cup sugar↗1 cup
• tablespoons cornstarch↗3 tablespoons
• tablespoons water↗3 tablespoons
• ounces whipped topping↗8 ounces
• cup finely chopped walnuts (optional)1⁄2 cup

   Prepare and bake cake according to pkg instructions for a 13x9 inch pan.

   Cool completely.

   Mix pineapple and sugar in saucepan.

   Bring to a boil.
