  • white marshmallows18
  • ready-to-roll white fondant icing250g g
  • strawberry laces18
  • icing250g g

    made from royal icing sugar

  • Pontefract cakes6
  • black writing icing
  • 3 round black Liquorice Allsorts

    halved

  • 6 orange

    Tic Tacs

  • 18 mini chocolate

    beans

  • mini white marshmallows24
  • mini candy canes

    or pretzel sticks

  • roughly crushed sugar cube
  • lolly or cake pop sticks6

Step-by-step instructions

  1. 1

Take a cake pop stick and thread a marshmallow onto it, narrow end first. Thread a second marshmallow, wide end onto the first so the two wide ends meet in the middle. Thread a third marshmallow sideways so the narrow round end forms the snowman's face.

  2. 2

Knead the white fondant icing and divide it into 6 portions. Shape each into a rough mound and place the snowmen onto these bases.

  3. 3

Take three strawberry laces and twist them together. Tie around a snowman's neck and trim the excess with scissors. Repeat for the other snowmen.

  4. 4

Using a little royal icing, attach a Pontefract cake to each head. With a little black writing icing, place a Liquorice Allsort on top of each Pontefract cake.

  5. 5

Pipe two eyes with black writing icing. With royal icing, attach a Tic Tac to each face as a carrot nose. Stick mini chocolate beans on the bodies as buttons.

  6. 6

With royal icing, attach four mini marshmallows to each snowman as arms. Attach a candy cane or pretzel stick to the end of each snowman's arm, fixing the bottom end to the icing mound.

  7. 7

Take a little royal icing and thin it with a few drops of water. Brush or dab it onto the base and sprinkle the crushed sugar cubes over it. Let set.
