Make a batch of these fun chocolate crinkle biscuits with sprinkles. Kids will love helping – especially decorating with the sprinkles!
Mix the cocoa powder, sugar and oil. Add the eggs one at a time, beating until fully combined.
In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder and a pinch of salt, then add to the cocoa mixture and stir until a soft dough forms. If the dough is too soft, transfer it to the refrigerator and chill for 1 hour.
Preheat the oven to 190°C/170°C with convection/gas 5 and line a baking tray with parchment. Transfer the sprinkles to a shallow dish. Shape a heaping teaspoon of dough into a ball, roll it in the sprinkles to coat – you may need to press the sprinkles, especially if the dough is chilled. If the sprinkles don’t stick, roll the balls in your hands until the mixture slightly warms. Repeat with the remaining dough, placing the balls evenly on the tray.
Bake in the centre of the oven for 10 minutes – they will crack while baking. The cookies will set as they cool, so do not overbake. Transfer to a wire rack and let cool. Store in a cookie tin for up to four days.
