Juicy rolls where a flavorful bean patty is wrapped in crisp puff pastry. They cook quickly, and their creamy filling and spicy chili sauce bring a true flavor celebration — perfect for a cozy dinner or festive table.
Preheat the oven: 180 °C fan or 200 °C conventional.
In a large bowl mash the beans, add dried thyme, spicy chili sauce and most of the grated Gruyère, reserving a handful for topping. Mix well.
Roll out the puff pastry on a flour‑dusted surface to a rectangle about 30 × 40 cm. Cut it into three strips 10 cm wide and 40 cm long.
Form long sausages from the bean mixture, place them in the centre of each pastry strip. Moisten one long edge of the pastry with water, then roll tightly, sealing the filling. Cut each strip into four pieces – you’ll get 12 rolls.
Place the rolls seam‑side down on a non‑stick baking tray, brush them with beaten egg or milk and sprinkle the remaining cheese. Bake 15–20 min until they rise and turn lightly golden. If the filling leaks a little, leave the rolls in the oven another 5 min until the cheese sets. Serve hot or let cool on a rack, then serve.
Turn off the oven.
