Step-by-step instructions

Shake all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and strain into a cocktail glass. 3 VARIANTS Strawberry Daiquiri This cocktail should be made only with very ripe and sweet berries – if the berries are large and flavorless from the fridge, the result will be just mush. Give yourself a generous handful of peeled strawberries per cocktail. Place them in an empty shaker and gently crush with a muddler or pestle, then add the other ingredients, shake as usual and strain into your cocktail glass. Occasionally you can use Funkin strawberry puree, which works almost as well. Daiquiri “Papa Dobble” Hemingway Writer Ernest Hemingway often drank at El Floridita in Havana, so they created a daiquiri recipe especially for him – Papa Dobble, with a quadruple portion of white rum, lime, grapefruit juice and Maraschino liqueur. I don’t think many can handle such a portion – though it’s tasty – so I reduced it: 50 ml white rum, 15 ml pink grapefruit juice, 15 ml lime juice, 15 ml Luxardo Maraschino liqueur, 5 ml sugar syrup, shake and strain into a cocktail glass or serve over ice, depending on your preference. Blue Daiquiri La Terraza Another place Hemingway liked to visit while fishing – a small bar by the water 10 miles from Havana, called La Terraza. The signature La Terraza daiquiri is made with blue curaçao, giving it lagoon colour. You can make it by simply replacing 15 ml Bols Blue curaçao in a regular daiquiri instead of sugar syrup. Delicious, slightly guilty pleasure on a hot summer day, especially with a cocktail umbrella.
