This aromatic chutney is an autumn symphony of flavor: juicy tomatoes, tender apple, raisins and warm spices. It’s not overly sweet, just right for spreading on bread and sharing with loved ones.
In a large saucepan, add the tomatoes, apple, onion, green pepper, raisins, sugar, salt, ground ginger and cider. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves.
After it boils, reduce the heat and simmer uncovered for 45–50 minutes, until the fruit becomes soft and the sauce thickens.
Remove the saucepan from the heat, let the chutney cool, then transfer it to a sterilized jar and seal tightly.
