Description
Kunafa is a traditional Middle Eastern dessert made from shredded phyllo (kataifi) or semolina, soaked in sweet syrup and often filled with sweet cheese or cream, and topped with crushed pistachios.

How to choose
Choose fresh kataifi strands that are dry and separate, and a mild, aromatic cheese such as akkawi or mozzarella. The syrup should be clear and free of sediment.
How to store
Store the prepared kunafa in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For longer keeping, freeze portions for up to 2 months.
