Make our chocolate bark as a thoughtful Christmas gift. The recipe is adaptable, so use any cookies you have, or the recipient's favorite.
Melt the milk or dark chocolate in a large heat‑proof bowl set over a saucepan of simmering water. Remove from the heat, then melt the white chocolate the same way. Or melt the chocolate in the microwave in short bursts.
Line a baking tray or sheet with parchment paper. Use a baking sheet if you want thinner bark pieces, or a smaller pan for a smaller amount of larger pieces.
Pour the melted milk or dark chocolate onto the prepared sheet or pan, then swirl it side to side, spreading the chocolate to the desired shape and thickness. Add a teaspoon of white chocolate, leaving a little, then use the tip of a knife or a skewer to swirl the white chocolate into the milk or dark chocolate.
Sprinkle with cookie pieces, then drizzle the remaining white chocolate in a spiral pattern. Top with sprinkles, nuts or candies, then leave in a cool place until fully set. Cut or break into pieces and wrap.
