Cucumber martinis

Need a sophisticated cocktail for entertaining? Cucumbers are used to garnish instead of olives in this refreshing twist on the classic martini

Ingredients

2 serv.
  • sugar syrup50ml ml

    (buy ready-made, or make your own - see tip, below)

  • cucumber10 thin slices

    plus 4 ribbons sliced with a vegetable peeler

  • mintlarge bunch

    stems removed

  • dry vermouth1 tbsp tbsp
  • gin150ml ml

Step-by-step instructions

    Chill two martini glasses. Put all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker or jug (except the cucumber ribbons), along with a handful of ice. Shake or mix well to combine, then strain the liquid into the glasses. Garnish with the cucumber ribbons, bunched up and threaded onto a cocktail stick.
