Sweet summer perfect drink! A tasty blueberry syrup mixed with matcha latte on oat milk creates the ideal cold beverage for summer. Yum!
For the blueberry syrup: A few hours before serving, place the blueberries in a large jar and cover with sugar and water. Put the jar in the refrigerator and let steep for 4‑6 hours or overnight, so the sugar draws out the juice from the berries. When steeping is done, stir well and add a little water if you want a less sweet syrup. (For a quicker version, you can mash the blueberries after thawing or melt them in the microwave and use the purple juice.) We need a rich purple “syrup” – nothing overly complicated!
For the matcha: Heat water in a small jar with a lid. Add matcha powder, close and shake until homogeneous.
Add the milk: Fill a large glass with ice. Pour the matcha over the ice, then add the oat milk. If you want to keep bright color layers for Instagram, pour the milk over the back of a spoon.
Finish with the blueberry syrup: Finally, pour one or two tablespoons of the blueberry syrup into the glass and watch it sink to the bottom (to taste, but this amount gives blueberry flavor without excessive sweetness). The green and purple layers look great! Stir before serving so the blueberry flavor is in every sip!
