A light, fragrant compote that makes a perfect finish to a Sunday lunch and a wonderful addition to breakfast or mid‑week puddings. Juicy apples, tender pears and tart cherries create an unforgettable flavor harmony — try it and you’ll want to make it again.

    peeled, cored, cut into large pieces

  • Bramley apples, medium size4

    peeled, cored, cut into large pieces

  • firm pears8

    peeled, cored, cut into thick slices

  • dried sour cherries280 г g

Step-by-step instructions

    Place the Bramley apples, table apples and pears into a pot, add the sugar and 50 ml of water. Bring to a gentle boil, then cover and simmer over low heat for about 15 minutes, until the Bramley apples break down into a puree and the other fruits become soft. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

    Add the dried cherries (or cranberries), stir for another minute, taste and, if needed, sweeten with additional sugar. Let the compote cool, then it can be stored in the refrigerator for 3‑5 days. Serve with vanilla ice cream or your favorite dessert.
