Almond Butter Cups

Almond butter cups: made with five ingredients and no refined sugar. Creamy, rich, and delicious!

Ingredients

12 serv.
  • melted coconut oil0.75 cup
  • cocoa powder (to taste, more or less)0.5 cup
  • natural sweetener (I like agave or maple syrup – to taste, more or less)2
  • pinch of salt
  • approximately 3/4 cup almond butter (or any nut butter)0.75 cup
  • sea salt for sprinkling

Step-by-step instructions

  1. 1

Whisk together the coconut oil, cocoa powder, sweetener, and a pinch of salt.

  2. 2

Fill a standard-size muffin tin with paper liners. Pour a small amount of the chocolate mixture (1–2 tablespoons) into the paper cups. Add a small spoonful of almond butter (2–3 teaspoons) into the center of each cup. Distribute the remaining chocolate among the cups.

  3. 3

If the almond butter rises, gently press it so each cup has an even top layer. Sprinkle each cup with a pinch of coarse sea salt. Freeze for one hour or until firm. Enjoy!
